Buildoff: I Take It Back

Cliffs Note version: I messed up and now I'm going to undo and redo some stuff.

This is what I get for working too late when I have my mind on too much other stuff. At lunch today, I took all the tape off and had a look at the inside of the box. I think I must have accidentally shifted the top when I was tracing the perimeter of it, my braces were off center, and one end of the middle brace was even tucked under the lining a little bit. They're supposed to taper to nothing right before the lining. Anyway, I got home from work and removed the back. I used a paint scraper that I've ground thin, and sat next to my gas stove and heated the scraper in the flame. I'd put the scraper into the glue joint and slowly move around the back, separating it from the sides. I ended up separating the seam down the center of the back just a little bit because of the heat, I don't think that'll be too hard to fix. I'll likely end up removing all three braces and installing new ones. It's good practice anyway.

I likely won't have time to return to this till after Christmas.

John, I can't bear the drama of this guitar building. First you do something, then you undo it, and then you do it all over again. This is better than any soap opera I've ever done watched. Hey, so are you going to the big O for Xmas? We are...
I know, it's like sands through the hourglass.

My folks are coming down here to Siloam for Christmas unless the weather's bad. It would have been good to see you, it's been a while. I should find a reason to come to Nashville sometime and scope out the sweet custom metal railing on your bridge.
Aw crap. It would have been good to see you also. If only... Please come to Nashville sometime. We would have big fun. Speaking of metal-smithery, I have been busy making xmas gifts this year for all the siblings. Simple but neat.. I might post some pics for you to see. Anyway, have a ho ho merry christmas and tell your folks hello from me. They're good people.

Oh, have you ever listened to a guy named Andrew Peterson? (sounds a touch like Rich Mullins) He's got this Xmas record called "Behold the Lamb of God"... Probably the finest xmas record I've ever heard. You may like it..
I'd love to see your metal-smithering gifts, that's cool. I got a book on making wooden toys, but I'm a bad uncle and never got around to making anything for the niece and nephew.

Likewise, say hey from me to whatever family you see in Omaha. I'm sure if my folks were there, my mom would have arranged some sort of get-together so she could play the accordion for us.

I'll have to check out Andrew Peterson, though it's getting late in the season for purchasing Christmas music. It seems I've heard good things about him before, but never heard him. I've had the Sufjan Christmas EPs in heavy rotation lately.
